[Ed: It is not that they are Muslims who are setting fire to cars and fighting the police and firemen in at least eight major cities in France. It is that France has allowed 5 million of them into the country (legally and illegally) and that's too many of any new culture for any modest-sized country to assimilate and find jobs and decent housing for. We have already had race riots on a lesser scale in the UK, Holland and Denmark, and there will undoubtedly be more -- and in other European countries, too. Immigrants are to be welcomed into a country for the additional cultural sparkle, variety and skills they add, so long as they assimilate well enough into the job market and don't frighten the natives so much that the immigrants have to ghettoise for self-protection. In the future, perhaps politicians will learn what anthropologists have been trying to tell them for years. There are several quite nasty anti-immigration political parties in the UK such as the British National Party but only one organisation, Migrationwatch UK, which is led by responsible individuals. Blair should start listening to them because they represent what a large proportion of the indigenous culture really feels.]
